Story

State of Siege: Temple Attack is based on the real-life mortifying conflict of the Akshardham Temple attack. To summarize the plot of this film as well as the real-life conflict, two terrorists infiltrated and caused anarchy in the Swaminarayan Akshardham complex at Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India on 24 September 2002. The terrorists ruthlessly caused more than 30 murders and injured more than 80 citizens. After around a day after this horrific incident occurred, the National Security Guards unit was deployed to the crime area and they terminated the onslaught by executing both the terrorists. After further investigation on this case, six criminals who were accomplices to this grim dispute were arrested by the Gujarat Police.

Review

The dread of a terrorist attack that happens in real life is very complex and difficult to portray through a film. There is always a high risk of people taking offence, the risk of hurting the sentiments or triggering the past of people who witnessed all of it. The makers of State of Siege: Temple Attack did a fair job portraying the main events of that monstrous incident. But it would be inappropriate to ignore how the filmmakers have stereotyped the movie depiction of the conflict. The sequences of the Akshardham Temple attack were aligned well in this film, and it also was well received by the audiences. The lead actors of this film did an excellent job with their fine acting and flawless portrayals of their given character.

The technical aspects of this film are the main highlight. The cinematography by Tejal Shetye was done immaculately, and the scenes were edited with utmost precision by Mukesh Thakur.

Verdict

This movie has the potential to be worth your while.
