Akshaye Khanna was born in Mumbai. He is the son of Bollywood actor and politician Vinod Khanna and the younger brother of actor Rahul Khanna. He was graduated from HR College in Mumbai. He studied at "Kishore Namit Kapoor" Acting Institute in Mumbai. His film debut was with "Himalay Putra" in 1997, the film was produced by his father Vinod Khanna.The film was unsuccessful at the box office but his performance was appreciated by film critics. He has featured in several films like Border, Hulchul, Dil Chahta Hai, Taal, Race and many other. After a huge gap of five years, he was seen in the movie "Dishoom". He has received Filmfare award for Best male debut and Best Supporting Actor. He awarded Screen Awards and IIFA Awards for Best Actor and Best Villain.
