He made his debut with the Telugu film "Chirutha" in the year 2007. He made his debut with the Malayalam film "Kelkatha Shabdham" in the year 2007. He has also launched an independent brand name Rahlaap with bass player Aalap Raju.He graduated in MBA and M.COM. He worked as a bank employee for two years. He was introduced by Vijay Antony. He has sung the songs for popular music composers like Ilailayaraaja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, and many others. He has performed over 400 live shows in India and abroad. He has sung over 350 songs for films. He has nominated and received FilmFare Award for Best Male Playback Singer.
