Inspired from true incidents, Palasa 1978 presents a gruesome tale of two oppressed brothers who turn against their upper caste leaders in a fight for power. 

When Dhrona's father scolds him for playing with his revolver, he runs away and disappears into oblivion. After many years, he returns home but hides his real identity from his parents.
