Naveen Polishetty: A roaring actor, redefined success with his new-age films.

Unlike some stars who unwillingly became actors, Naveen Polishetty says that he has always dreamt of becoming an actor. Naveen Polishetty, who used to do various jobs like a marketing guy, event organizer, and finally made his dreams turn into reality.

Though Naveen Polishetty became popular with just one film, there were so many rejections, failures, insults, and struggles behind his success. Naveen achieved his dreams with his sheer hard work, but a tiny bit of luck also played a small role in his favor which paved the way for his success. Let's have a look at Naveen Polishetty's journey so far.

Childhood and family:

Naveen Polishetty was born on 26 December 1989 in Hyderabad. His father is a pharmaceutical businessman, whereas his mother is a bank employee. Naveen sometimes accompanied his mother, started liking the bank environment and said he would become a cashier. However, he was still a kid when he decided to become an actor and started dreaming of entering the industry.

Naveen Polishetty graduated from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology and joined a software firm in Pune. He also went to London and used to earn a handsome salary. Soon, Naveen realized that he did enough, and it is high time for him to follow his passion. He quit his job in England and returned to Hyderabad to pursue a full-time career in acting. He kick-started his career by working in theatre and performed in several plays.

Acting Debut:

Naveen Polishetty appeared on the silver screens for the first time with the 'Life Is Beautiful' movie in 2012, in which he played the role of a spoiled rich brat. He later played a minor role in Mahesh Babu-starrer '1: Nenokkadine' in 2014. But, as he has always been craving for more, Naveen moved to theatre and stand-up comedy.

Soon, Naveen impressed All India Bakchod with his comedy and started making Youtube skits. He made his screen presence for the first time with the 'Honest Weddings' episode, to which he also penned the script. He also got popular with the Honest Engineering Campus Placements episode, in which he appeared as an average guy. However, life was not at all easy for him when he was in Mumbai. He used to attend every audition but failed to crack them. He faced so many rejections. Be it an advertisement or a short film, Naveen used to participate in all the auditions. At that time, he also suffered disc problems, and his left leg got paralyzed. But, Naveen believed in his willpower, decided that he cannot afford 3 months of bed rest at that time of his career, and recovered in just one month with physiotherapy. To make ends meet, Naveen used to do all kinds of jobs, including salesman, promoting products, organizing parties, babysitting, etc.

Naveen finally got two movie offers. But the producers of both the films asked him to allot the exact dates. As he played the lead role in one of those films, he requested the other movie producer to postpone the shooting. But, they rejected him. After a couple of months, the director who was supposed to do a movie with Naveen Polishetty announced the same film with another hero, leaving Naveen Polishetty devastated. The producer called him up and said that though he is a good actor, the Hero they picked is investing 55% in the movie, so they took him on board. This incident made Naveen realize that the film industry is also a business. He has to earn the producers' trust by becoming a promising hero among the audience. In 2019, Polishetty returned to Telugu cinema and got an opportunity to star in a comedy thriller film 'Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya'. Little did he know that he will become a star with the film. The movie became a big hit at the box office.

Later, he debuted in Bollywood with Sushanth Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Chhichhore'. Naveen also has an exciting story behind getting an Acid role in 'Chhichhore' movie. Initially, Director Nitesh Tiwari wanted to rope in Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly for the role. Still, the casting director Mukesh Chhabra heard the name wrong and called Naveen Polishetty. Though they soon realized their mistake and sent him away after taking the audition, a YouTube video of Naveen Polishetty went viral. The makers called him again and gave him the role. So, a little bit of luck also worked in his favor in his Bollywood debut.

After 'Chhichhore', Naveen starred in 'Jathi Ratnalu' movie under Anudeep KV, and Nag Ashwin bankrolled this project. Touted to be an out-and-out comedy entertainer, the film became a blockbuster.

Let's talk about his movies:

Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya:

Who doesn't love thrillers? Suspense and comedy have always been the two most favorite genres of most movie lovers. People have seen a bunch of edge-of-the-seat thriller movies and also some full-length comedy entertainers. But, a film with a blend of these genres is not something that common in Tollywood. But Naveen Polishetty took the risk of combining two different genres too for his debut movie. He played the role of an incompetent crime detective in this film. However, Naveen Polishetty pulled off his role well. The movie succeeded in giving both thrills and laughs to the audience. Naveen Polishetty became a household name with the success of this film.

Jathi Ratnalu:

This movie can be divided as before lockdown and after lockdown. Jathi Ratnalu was supposed to hit the theatres in summer 2020 but got postponed because of the Coronavirus pandemic. Before lockdown, everyone thought Naveen Polishetty would come up with an ordinary comedy entertainer 'Jathi Ratnalu' movie. But, the perspectives changed after the lockdown.

Because of the pandemic, Naveen Polishetty got back to YouTube and started doing funny YouTube videos. His videos like Rewind Of 2020, Online Delivery During Lockdown, went viral on the internet. Even after the lockdown, the makers took some gap to release the film and used it for promotions. The teasers, trailers, and even the singles increased the buzz around the movie. 'Jathi Ratnalu' became a much-awaited film. Amid high expectations, the film finally hit the theatres on 11 March 2021.

Due to the vigorous promotions, the movie opened with huge openings. 'Jathi Ratnalu' is the first-ever out-and-out comedy entertainer movie that got released post lockdown. The film became a blockbuster. With the leads' excellent comedy timing, Naveen Polishetty, Priyadarshi, and Rahul Ramakrishna and the cameo appearances of stars like Keerthy Suresh, Brahmanandam, Vijay Deverakonda, the movie went on to record huge collections at the box office. Naveen says that if a person is sad, he feels that it is his responsibility to make him laugh. With 'Jathi Ratnalu' movie, Naveen Polishetty proved that he can actually tickle our laugh bones with his presence.

Naveen Polishetty is now enjoying the success of the film and is yet to announce his next project. He revealed that he has been getting so many reasonable offers and has signed a couple of projects. The fans are also eagerly waiting to see him on the silver screens again. The fans are hoping to see Naveen Polishetty coming up with more exciting and unique movies.
