Taapsee To Be Playing The Lead In Her Next Film

Pan-Indian Actress Taapsee Pannu now has an impressive record of well-made movies with an astounding execution of her acting skills. With films like Pink, Game Over, Badla she has left a gleaming trail of mind-blowing hits. Now, she will hopefully add another film to her list where she will be portraying the role of Mithali Raj, one of the greatest batswomen in the world. To give a few insights about Mithali Raj, she is the only cricketer to lead the Indian Women's Cricket team in two World Cups, during the years 2005 and 2017. She is also the only female cricketer to transcend the 6,000-run mark in ODIs. She then declared her retreat from cricket in 2019, after finishing 20 years being a remarkable sportswoman. She truly deserves a biopic considering her shining track record.

This biopic has been titled Shabaash Mithu where Taapsee will be playing the role of Mithali Raj. In an attempt to perfect her role, Taapsee is going through intensive athletic training under Nooshin Al Khadeer, who is Mithali Raj's friend and retired Indian cricket player.

The biopic Shaabash Mithu is directed by Rahul Dholakia and penned down by Priya Aven. It is produced by Ajit Andhare under the banner of Viacom 18 Pictures. The release of this film was postponed due to the obvious reason for the pandemic, but now since the lockdown has been eased out, the release date should be announced anytime soon.
