Shriya Saran left her cousin's wedding in Jaipur to join Rajamouli's RRR

Shriya Saran walked out of her cousin's wedding celebrations in Jaipur to land her part in SS Rajamouli's RRR, the actor has revealed in a recent interview.

The call came during the festivities, asking whether she could be there the next day. She left the wedding procession, went without sleep and caught a 5 AM flight to Hyderabad. The team had told her the first day would only be a script reading and a look test, with shooting to begin the day after. Once she arrived, they simply told her it was time to shoot. Shriya laughed about it and said working with him is always fun.

In the film, she has a cameo as Ajay Devgn's wife in the flashback portions. RRR was her second outing with Rajamouli after Chatrapathi (2005), which starred Prabhas, and she said it was a chance she did not want to miss.

What stayed with her most from his sets is lunch. Cast and crew eat together, she recalled, and Rajamouli's wife Rama brings home-cooked food. Over the meal, the cameraman and everyone else talk through the day's scenes and the films that inspire them.

She also shared a tip Jr NTR gave her on that set: whenever Rajamouli wants a shot, give it to him as quickly as possible. In her words, the director is very clear about what he wants.

Her Telugu memories go back to Tagore (2003) with Chiranjeevi. When a choreographer pushed her to dance in his style, Chiranjeevi told her not to copy anyone and to find a style of her own.

On the work front, she was most recently seen in Drishyam 3: The Conclusion.
