Previously, Mass Raja Raviteja's typical masala films like Dhamaka had garnered significant box office collections, while Waltair Veerayya's success had also contributed to his popularity. However, Raviteja's recent films such as Khiladi failed to perform well, and the same was expected for his latest release, Ravanasura, which received negative reviews.
Despite this, the film's makers are pleased with its first weekend collections from the Telugu states alone, which reportedly amounted to nearly ₹9 crores "share." This is surprising considering the initial flop talk surrounding the film. Ravanasura is unlikely to surpass Khiladi's record-low box office collections of ₹11+ crores in its full run, but it may set a new record of its own.
If attendance remains low on Saturday and Sunday, the film may struggle to draw audiences in the following days, particularly in single-screen theaters. While Dhamaka had earned over ₹35+ crores in its entire run at the global box office, Ravanasura is unlikely to achieve the same level of success.
