Niti Taylor says a Telugu director demanded sexual favours for a film role

Niti Taylor has said a casting couch experience with a Telugu director made her walk away from films. In a recent interview, the actor said she never acted in a movie again after it.

The director had already made one film with her. Once it was finished, he called her about a new project and told her she would have to sleep with him to get the part. Niti said she was too stunned to know how to respond. She ended the call, blocked his number and told her mother what had happened.

She also suggested that this director had behaved the same way with other women. At the time she kept the incident to herself because she was in shock. Looking back, she said the episode left her deeply shaken and settled her decision to stay away from cinema. She did not name the director.

All three of her films were in Telugu. She made her debut in 2012 with Mem Vayasuku Vacham, a Trinadha Rao Nakkina film with Tanish in the lead, which did well at the box office. In 2013 came Pelli Pustakam, directed by Ramakrishna Machakanti, with Rahul Ravindran as her co star. Her last film was Love Dot Com in 2014, directed by Raja Vannem Reddy and starring Aarya Sandeep. Neither of the later two worked commercially.

After that, Niti put her energy into Hindi television, where she built most of her career.
