In 2019, the Tamil film "Khaidi" (known as "Kaithi" in Tamil) starring the Tamil star Karthi achieved tremendous success, emerging as a blockbuster at the box office. The film also elevated its director, Lokesh Kanagaraj, to the status of one of the most sought-after filmmakers in the realm of Tamil Cinema.

Since the announcement of a sequel to this gripping gangster drama, fans of both Karthi and Lokesh have been eagerly awaiting further updates on their second collaboration. Recently, during an interview to promote his upcoming action entertainer, "Japan," Karthi made an exciting revelation.

Karthi has officially confirmed that "Khaidi 2" is set to commence production after Lokesh completes his next project, which features the legendary Superstar Rajinikanth. Initially scheduled to start shooting in January, "Khaidi 2" experienced a delay due to Lokesh's commitment to the Rajini film. It's worth noting that "Japan" marks Karthi's silver jubilee film, and it's all set to grace theaters on November 10.
