Director Teja Shares His Thoughts On OTT Influence And Popcorn Prices

Director Teja, known for his many blockbusters, recently sat down with actor Gopichand for a special interview to promote his upcoming film Rama Banam, set to release on May 5th, 2023. During the interview, Teja shared his thoughts on various topics related to the film industry.

When asked by Gopichand about the impact of OTT platforms on the theatrical audience post-pandemic, Teja stated that he believes the theatre business won't be affected due to the presence of OTT and TV, as nothing can match the feel of a theatrical experience. However, he did express concern about the high prices of popcorn in multiplexes, which he believes is hurting the cinema industry.

Teja believes that middle-class families cannot afford the high prices of refreshments at multiplexes and suggests that people watch films on single screens, where the screens are bigger and the prices are more reasonable. He also stated that he cannot watch a movie without popcorn and that he has heard complaints from many audiences about the high prices of refreshments.

According to Teja, the Hindi film industry is not performing well due to the exorbitant prices of snacks in multiplexes. Overall, Teja believes that the cinema industry needs to address the issue of high refreshment prices to make moviegoing a more accessible and affordable experience for everyone.
