Aditya (Thakur Anoop Singh) plans to propose to his girlfriend Rashmi (Sai Dhanshika) at a party, but everything goes topsy-turvy when one of the guests at the do stumbles upon the corpse of Menon (Kishore). In the melee that ensues, Rashmi goes missing and Aditya makes it his mission to find her.Aided by his pal Karishma (Tanya Hope), Aditya finds out that Rashmi is being held in Madikeri and sets out to free her. But Rashmi’s captors get the better of him, beat him to a pulp and escape with her yet again. Aditya’s troubles, though, don’t end there, as he and Rashmi become persons of interest in the investigation into Menon’s murder. Will Aditya save Rashmi from the clutches of the villains? Did they have anything to do with the murder? Will cops nab the real culprits?Director Sunil Kumar Desai, known for making thrillers, is back to his comfort zone after his earlier Re. The film has all the ingredients that are associated with his films, and keeps audiences on the edge with enough twists, but it is not without flaws. There is action galore in Udgharsha, but it would seem that it is a tad too much. The narrative also lags at times and could have been maintained tight to keep audiences intrigued. The sheer number of antagonists in the film make for an interesting watch, though. In his first role as leading man, Thakur Anoop Singh shines and proves his mettle. Kabir Duhan Singh as Dharmendra does justice to his role. Tanya Hope and Sai Dhanshika have excelled in their roles. So, if suspense thrillers are just up your alley, Udgharsha is worth a weekend watch.
