Directed by Saahith Mothkuri, known for his short film Bandham Regad, Savaari is a film that can be described as satisfactory. With ample comedy and romance, the film manages to be interesting in bits and pieces. Despite the interesting set-up, the director soon lowers the bar, with the film flattening out as it reaches the climax. Raju is a horseman whose whole life revolves around Badshah, his beloved horse that needs a major heart operation. He tires relentlessly night and day for the same. Baaghi comes from a well-settled family that is forcing her to get married to a man much older than her. The runaway bride enters Raju’s life, turning it exciting and troublesome both. To make matters worse, Baaghi’s ex-boyfriend Sandy comes into the fold, apart from a rowdy named Kaali. How Baaghi gets Raju out of trouble and helps him get the money he needs is what Savaari is all about. Despite following the rich-girl-meets-poor-boy trope, the film is a breath of fresh air thanks to its quirky comedy and entertaining screenplay. Nandu comes out of his comfort zone and steals the show right from the get-go. He gets into the skin of a horseman and injects the film with energy. Priyanka is equally entertaining but she sometimes falls flat. Musician Sekhar Chandra and cinematographer Monish Bhoopathiraju go a good job. But Savaari, which begins entertainingly quickly becomes a tiresome watch. The climax too is run-of-the-mill offering nothing unique. With the kind of set-up given and nothing exciting panning out, Savaari doesn’t leave you with a smile on your face.

On the whole, Savaari does not live up to all the hype and has a strictly few moments going it’s way.The lead pair’s track along with Nandu’s performance are good but the lack of strong conflict points and repeated scenes take down the film in no time making it a dull watch this weekend.
