Review

Allari Naresh did well with everything he is entrusted with but it is time he is given ampler scripts than this. Pooja looks pretty, is confined to songs, and has no great deal of acting. Posani, Satyam Rajesh, Praveen, Prudhvi, and Tanikella are good in the little, yet prominent roles, as always. Bangaru Bullodu has a narrative that has possibility but falls flat because of a lot of silly parts. A better script would have turned this movie into something more.

The first part of the film is okay with the decent screenplay and an interesting storyline. Within this time the main plot of the movie is established with soaring emotions from the characters. But the second half does not justify the story with too many silly and illogical inclusions.

There is a lot of expectation about Allari Naresh's movie, but this movie fails to be a fun-riot as expected. With all the lovely shots of the Godavari district, the story ensures much more than it fulfils. The film takes numerous deviations from the basic plot director PV Giri had placed.

There’s a sequence shot spinning around the gold robbery in the second half that does not serve any purpose. A few comedy scenes comprising Posani Murali Krishna uplift the mood, even that does not last long. Too many characters join the charade with their attempts to cover up the silly mistakes, that doesn't look good. It is a thriller penned into lousy comedy-drama with a heavy dose of love that sounds bad, and that’s what spoils the film. The touching scenes also fail to invoke anything in the audience, and the music in the second half serves no purpose. It is all predictable and ends in an unconvincing climax.

Verdict

A one-time watch good enough to stay on the weekend movies watching list.
