Storyline

Mere Desh Ki Dharti stars Divyenndu Sharma, Anant Vidhaat, Rakesh Krushna Joshi, and Anupriya Goenka in lead roles. The movie is about the Independence of India, explaining the story of an Indian farmer. The story revolves around the Indian youth. Most of the Indian Youth end up aimless in life, not knowing what they want to achieve. They either want to become a doctor or an engineer and end-up with no aim in life. The same happens with Diveyendu Sharma, who does his engineering and moves about aimlessly. He gets into a fix whether to find a job abroad or work in India. Perplexed with the life he goes to a village where it transforms his life. 

He moves to a village and finds the hard realities of farming and the issues faced by the farmers. He along with his friends tries to work on the plight of the Farmers. He realizes that all the government schemes do not reach the farmers and get lost in between. Here he makes it a purpose of his life to work for the welfare of the farmers and fight for their rights. How he does it and what all challenges he faces in the due course of life form the remaining part of the story.

Story

Mere Desh Ki Darthi is a classical attempt to show the plight of the farmers in India and how youth can work towards the upliftment of the cause. The story revolves around a perplexing youth who finds a purpose in life by getting to know the plight of the farmers in India and fighting for it. How he achieves those goals forms the rest of the story. 

Review

A good attempt by Faraz Haider, who tries to form a story around a simple subject that hit the screens long ago. The story by Neel Chakraborty is okay but not a great one. It could have been much better had it been worked with a senior writer. Although Faraz Haider did co-write for the script it doesn't seem to have the thought-provoking elements to move the audience. The acting by Anupriya Goenka in the lead was good, along with Anant Vidhaat Sharma, but the star of the show remains Divyendu Sharma, who entertains the audience with his excellent performance, continuing from his previous best in Mirzapur Season 1 and Season 2. 

The movie, which was supposed to be released in 2020 got delayed due to lockdown and other reasons. Although it now comes at a point where farmer agitations are at their highest it doesn't have the required goods to propel it towards the blockbuster. 

Verdict

A good attempt worth a one-time watch.
