Story

M. D. Makwana (Jackie Shroff) is a most wanted fraudster. He dupes a huge amount of money and wants to escape from Mumbai. His model girlfriend Mona (Elnaaz Norouzi) suggests him to disguise himself as a caged gorilla so that he would be undiscovered. At the same time, Toto, a real gorilla also escapes from a crashed plane. Meanwhile, Chirag "Charlie" Rastogi (Aadar Jain) is assigned the job of escorting a gorilla (Makwana in disguise) to a circus. Along the way, an acrobat-cum-dancer Padma (Shhloka Pandit) tags along with him. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Review

The movie doesn't have anything to offer and is devoid of any logic or whatsoever. However, the film has some funny scenes scattered randomly but only a few of them will actually work. Most of the comedy felt forced as all the dialogues, action sequences and each and every scene tries to attempt to make the audience laugh. But the mindless comedy becomes unbearable. It is a good thing the movie got a digital release instead of a theatrical release.

The story itself is so weak that there is nothing much left for the director to execute it well. More than laughter, most of the scenes are noisy and annoying. Though the makers have promoted that the movie is an adventurous comedy, the film failed to justify both genres. The production values are high. The screenplay is boring and week. Background music by John Stewart Eduri is good at times and is worth appreciating. The cinematography is quite impressive.

The movie is a comeback film for Aadar Jain. But the actor has impressed with his script selection. However, his performance is decent and he has justified his role. Jackie Shroff doesn't have much to perform and for most of the film, his character will be in a Gorilla suit. His screen presence is good. Shloka Pandit's subtle performance is good to watch. Elnaaz Norouzi did a convincing job. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt.

Verdict

Though logic went for a toss, the fine performances, funny characters, and hilarious scenes that are scattered here and there made the film worth giving it a try.
