Storyline

Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the movie was initially titled as 'Patta Pagalu' and was supposed to get released in 2014 itself. But the director who lost interest in the film quit the project. Rumors were rife that Ram Gopal Varma had left the project to Rajashekar and the senior actor and his wife Jeevitha were to decide the fate of the film. But after shelving the project for so long, director Ram Gopal Varma has finally revived the project and gave it a shape. The director changed the title of the film to 'Dheyyam'. RGV has come up with a horror film titled as 'Deyyam' in 1996 with JD Chakravarthy and Maheshwari in the lead roles and the movie became a super hit. Now, with the same title, the same director came up with another horror film. Akshay Kumar played the role of a middle-aged person with the teenage daughter. After impressing the audience with the trailer, the film finally made it into the theatres on 16th April 2021.
