Chennakesava Reddy, once a feared and respected faction leader of Rayalaseema, comes back to his homeland after more than twenty years in prison. While he was away, the region has slipped under the harsh rule of Dhanunjaya Reddy and his brothers, and Chennakesava wants revenge.
Far from there, in Mumbai, police officer Bharath Reddy lives by the law and refuses to bend it. He looks exactly like Chennakesava, and he meets Preethi, a medical student and the commissioner's daughter. As the old faction leader goes after his enemies, Bharath's sense of duty puts him in the way. Balakrishna plays both men.
