Every serial killer film usually presents an interesting element. In Penguin, its a masked man, an angelic statue and objects in the color Yellow. Penguin, starring Keerthy Suresh presented itself as an investigative thriller. Let's see if the Amazon Prime Video release meets our expectations.

    Story

Rhythm is expecting a child and is highly depressed about the loss/missing of her first son. In a flashback, she narrates a story of a mother penguin's tenacity and strength to retrieve a baby penguin. Curiously, her lost son returns and this sets in motion the investigation behind the mystery.

    Analysis

Penguin has beautiful visuals. It's amazing how every frame is postcard-worthy. While the slow narration and draging nature of the movie is fine to deal with, the biggest let down is the climax. The fact that someone would go to such lengths for trivial reasons didn't work. Plus the messy structure, haphazard writing and lack of logic kind of cloud Keerthy Suresh's honest portrayal.
