    Story

The entire story revolves around the family of a soldier Rajveer Singh. Rajveer Singh(Vikram Singh) is a soldier who loses his life during an attack at the borders. His mother (Zarina Wahab) and wife Sakshi (Bidita Bag) who are devastated with the news but decides not to let Vikram's daughter Aaradhya (Mahi Soni) know the truth as she loves her father more than anything in the world. Not only the family members, but also the entire village where everyone knows everybody pretends that Rajveer Singh is not dead. What happens if Aaradhya finds out the truth? Who is the Abhishek (Sharman Joshi) and how is he related to the Rajveer Singh family? What will he do for the sake of Aaradhya? forms the rest of the story.

    Review

It feels like it is a small and simple story which can be narrated in 2 minutes but the director has dragged it into two hours and made a film out of it. Despite having an emotional story that has a lot of scope to impact the audience, the cliched sequences and forced emotions will disappoint the audience. The relationship between a son and mother is showcased beautifully and scenes between Zarina Wahab and Sharman Joshi will touch the heart.

The screenplay is extremely weak and doesn't have much to offer. Especially in the first half, the proceedings are extremely slow and boring. The pace picks up only in the second half and though it is predictable, there are some good scenes in a film in the second half. The dialogues don't make any impact on the audience. As the script itself is so weak, Aaryan Saksena's execution also is disappointing. Some songs are good and the music is just average.

The entire story revolves around Sharman Joshi in the second half and the actor did a wonderful job in essaying the role of Abhishek in the movie. Bidita Bag also justified her role. Vikram Singh went under the skin of the character and did a convincing job. Zarina Wahab is too good in her role. Mahi Soni acted well in the film. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt.

    Verdict

Mera Fauji Calling is a mediocre emotional drama which fails to touch the heart.
