Srikanth Addala

Srikanth Addala is a Telugu film director and writer whose best-known works include Kotha Bangaru Lokam, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Mukunda. His work on Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu brought him a nomination for Best Director (Telugu) at the South Indian International Movie Awards in 2013. Addala learned filmmaking as an assistant director on several projects before he got his own chance. That chance came with Kotha Bangaru Lokam (2008), which he both wrote and directed. He then provided the story for Cheluvina Chilipili (2009). His next film as director, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (2013), saw him handle the story, screenplay and dialogue as well. He followed it with Mukunda (2014), again writing the story and screenplay himself, and then Brahmotsavam (2016), for which he also wrote the story. With Narappa (2021) he took the director's chair on a project without a writing credit, and he went on to write and direct Peddha Kapu 1 (2023). Addala is known as a filmmaker who usually builds his films from his own stories. On most of his projects he has served as both writer and director, and on several he has also shaped the screenplay. This lets him keep close control over how each story reaches the screen. His award nomination for Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu stands as the main recognition of his directing work so far.
