The film is based on the battle exploits of Kunjali Marakkar IV, the naval chieftain of the Samoothiri. Kunjali Marakkars organised the first ever naval defense off the Malabar Coast of India against the Portuguese invasion, for almost a century.

A 10 year old boy living on an island, sets off on a journey to search his long lost elder brother Akbar.
