Nag Ashwin is a popular screenwriter and director in Tollywood who is known for his movies like 'Yevade Subramanyam', 'Mahanati' etc. Born on April 23rd, 1986 in Hyderabad, both his mother Jayanti Reddy and father Jayaram are doctors. He studied in Hyderabad Public School and completed his graduation in mass communication from MIT Manipal. Following his passion, Nag Ashwin took a film direction course at New York Film Academy. After completing his Film Direction course, Nag Ashwin has kick-started his career as an assistant director with 'Nenu Meeku Telusa..?' movie. He also worked as an assistant director with Sekhar Kammula for 'Leader' and 'Life is Beautiful' movies. In 2015, Nag Ashwin became a director with Yevade Subramanyam movie. For his second movie, he came up with 'Mahanati' which is the biopic on legendary actress Savitri and the movie became a blockbuster. He also directed an episode in the Netflix anthology movie 'Pitta Kathalu'. In 2021, Nag Ashwin also became a producer with 'Jathi Ratnalu' movie starring Naveen Polishetty, Priyadarshi, and Rahul Ramakrishna. The movie also became a super hit at the box office.  Nag Ashwin won a Nandi Award for the Best Debut Director with 'Yevade Subramanyam' movie. For 'Mahanati' movie, he became the best director in 66th Filmfare Awards South, 66th National Film Awards, Zee Cine Awards Telugu, and Ramineni Foundation Awards. Mahanati movie also got premiered on the Indian panorama mainstream section at the 49th international film festival of India and won the 'Equality in Cinema' award at the 2018 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.  In December 2015, Nag Ashwin married Vyjayanthi Movies fame Ashwini Dutt's daughter Priyanka Dutt. The couple also have a son.
