She made her debut with the Telugu film Khatarnak in the year 2006. She became famous with the song "ninne ninne" from the film Nachavule in 2008. She has received two FilmFare awards and Nandi Award for Best Female Playback Singer. She holds the record of winning highest number of Filmfare awards. She has sung in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. She has recorded more than 550 songs for various films and albums. She has participated in an MAA TV show called Super Singer.
