A superhit film based on the life of Kancherla Gopanna.Kancherla Gopanna (Nagarjuna) is appointed the tehsildar of Husnabad, causing unrest among rivals in the neighbourhood. But Kanchanna becomes more interested in religious matters and immerses himself in building a temple honouring Rama at Bhadrachalam. The film also stars Akkineni Nageshwar Rao and Suman.
