Great Shankar is a high-octane cop action film. The plot of this film revolves around the protagonist who is an ethical man of society and a cop with immense integrity. The protagonist does his best to defeat the people who meddle with the precious lives of youthful students. He stands as a true people's man who always does the right thing.

The film is based on the battle exploits of Kunjali Marakkar IV, the naval chieftain of the Samoothiri. Kunjali Marakkars organised the first ever naval defense off the Malabar Coast of India against the Portuguese invasion, for almost a century.

The story revolves around the relationship between an orthodox, aged, old fashioned father, and a robot, which is gifted to him by his son. The resulting tale is a classy interaction between emotional and programmed minds. 

A famous Kovilakom is well known for its pedigree and tradition. Most of the people in the village are somehow related to this Kovilakom. When a prominent person comes from Delhi to the Kovilakom to solve their issues, the village is stirred up. Consequently, instead of a solution, the situation becomes increasingly complicated.
