Farhad Samji

Farhad Samji is a Hindi cinema storyteller who works both behind the camera as a director and on the page as a writer. He helmed Housefull 4 (2019), Bachchhan Paandey (2022) and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (2023), and his dialogue drives popular titles such as Sooryavanshi (2021), Street Dancer 3D (2020) and Coolie No. 1 (2020). His first directing credit came with Housefull 3 (2016). He then wrote dialogue for Judwaa 2 (2017), Golmaal Again (2017) and Simmba (2018). In 2019 he wrote the story of Super 30, composed music and lyrics for Prassthanam, and took charge of Housefull 4. The year 2020 brought screenplay work on Baaghi 3 and Laxmii. In 2022 he directed and co-wrote Bachchhan Paandey, gave Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 its story and penned lines for Cirkus. He went on to direct Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan in 2023, acted in Pop Kaun? that same year, wrote the screenplay of Housefull 5 (2025) and the story of Pintu Ki Pappi (2025), and supplied dialogue for Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai (2026). Samji is recognised for his range across filmmaking crafts. Beyond directing and writing, he has worked as a lyricist, music director, playback singer and actor, and he often shapes the light, comic tone of the mass entertainers he joins.
