Upendra is most popular, busiest and leading actor, a professional director, script writer of Kannada Film Industry. Upendra is a creative director, he thinks in an unusual way and directs the films. Upendra is popularly called as Uppi and Real star by his fans. He started his career as an assistant director to the director Kashinath. Kashinath played a vital role in molding his career as a director. Even today Upendra considers Kashinath as his Guru. Upendra is a multitalented person of Sandalwood. After working as an assistant director he made his directorial debut with the film “Tharle Nan Maga” in 1992. The film got a huge hit and his talent was appreciated by filmmakers in the industry, from that he received many offers from the producers to direct their films. Upendra made his acting debut with "A" in 1998. He is one among the top paid actors in sandalwood industry.
