Biography

Sukhwinder Singh is an Indian film singer best known in Bollywood.&nbsp;Sukhwinder Singh was born in Amritsar, Punjab. He first performed on stage at the age of eight years and sang a Lata Mangeshkar number "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa". He got his break in the film "Karma", in which he sang only a few lines. He has visited England and America to see, hear and understand various forms of music.<div><br></div><div>He shot to fame for singing the song "Chaiyya Chaiyya" for which he has received the Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Award in 1999. He gained more international recognition for singing "Jai Ho" from the film Slumdog Millionaire, which won him an Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Sukhwinder Singh has released a Punjabi album called "Munda Southhall Da" with T. Singh and quickly became a music arranger, before heading to the south of India to look for work. The combination of Sukhwinder Singh and composer AR Rahman has given a lot of hit songs. He has also recorded a couple of Tamil songs for Rahman.</div>
