Yet Another Bollywood Sports Drama Has Debuted With Disappointing Numbers At The Box Office.

Over the past few years, it seems like the Bollywood audience hasn't been as excited about sports movies as they used to be. Even well-made films like 83 and Maidaan didn't do as well at the box office as everyone had hoped. And now, a new sports drama called Chandu Champion, starring the talented Karthik Aaryan and directed by the popular Kabir Khan, just hit theaters yesterday.

The movie tells the inspiring story of Murlikant Petkar, India's first Paralympic gold medallist. Despite the star power behind Chandu Champion, it didn't have a great opening day at the box office, only earning 5.4 crores nett. It's a bit disappointing considering how much the actor and director are loved by fans.

Hopefully, things will pick up and audiences will start showing more interest in sports dramas again. The talent behind Chandu Champion definitely deserves some recognition for their hard work!

Despite keeping ticket prices at a reasonable Rs.150, it seems like there wasn't much of a buzz around the sports film. Some people are even saying that sports films might not be as popular in the future. The movie starring Karthik Aaryan did receive positive reviews, though, and the makers are hoping that good word of mouth will help it do well at the box office this weekend. Plus, with the first Monday being a holiday, there's a chance for the movie to make up for its slow start and see a boost in ticket sales.
