TFPC Announcement: The News Circulating About Theatre Closures In Telugu States Is False.

The news of single screens in Telangana temporarily shutting down has been spreading like wildfire on social media. This has sparked a huge conversation among netizens who believe that the focus on producing PAN Indian films is to blame for this situation. However, the Telugu Film Producers Council has released a statement denouncing the rumors circulating online.

According to the TFPC, only a few single-screen theatre owners in both Telugu states have chosen to close their theatres on their own accord. The press release also clarified that no official notice has been received from any cinema theatre owners' groups or associations in either state regarding the closure of cinemas.

"It's important to note that the decision to close these theatres was made by individual owners due to low revenues during the Elections and IPL season. We want to emphasize that neither the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce nor the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce were involved in these closures," the statement from TFPC read.
