Dhanush's film 3 (Moonu) from 2012 didn't do well initially, but it was re-released in Telugu for the third time recently. The film stars Shruti Haasan and is the directorial debut of Aishwarya Rajinikanth, who is also Dhanush's ex-wife. Surprisingly, the Telugu audience loved it!

The film's re-release turned out to be a hit, making a whopping Rs. 1.5 crore. The buzz is that the movie's success will only continue, with big box office numbers expected over the weekend.

Previous instances like the triumph of Surya S/o Krishnan after its re-release show that Tamil films can do exceptionally well in Telugu states. It will be exciting to see if more Tamil movies jump on the re-release bandwagon.
