Rakul's Personal View On Her Upcoming Film 'Sardar Ka Grandson'

Rakul Preet Singh and Arjun Kapoor are co-starring in an upcoming comedy-drama film 'Sardar Ka Grandson'. This story has an interesting plotline as it's a love story traversing three generations, starting in 1947 and continuing till 2020. The story of this film revolves around an NRI youth who wants to fulfill his grandmother's final wish who is on the brink of her demise. Her wish is for her grandson to visit her ancestral home in Pakistan that was abandoned during the partition. Sardar Ka Grandson features Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, and Neena Gupta playing the leading roles. On the other hand, John Abraham and Aditi Rao Hydari are to play Arjun Kapoor's grandparents in the 1947 track.

In a candid session with the PTI, Rakul Preet Singh expresses her opinion on this film. She said, “The emotion in the film is very universal. It's not just about a grandmother and her grandson. It's about people going to a different extent for family. It's about giving importance to your family. I think never before have we understood or realized the importance of family than over the last one year, ever since the pandemic has hit the globe."

Sardar Ka Grandson was supposed to be released in theatres but due to the grave situation of the pandemic, the film crew made a wise decision to release this film on an international OTT platform Netflix on 18 May 2021.
