The first look and teaser of the film 'Saina' have been released on media platforms but it received a mixed array of reactions, most of it being criticizing and negative. She was interviewed during the trailer launch event and was asked her view regarding her role's backlash.

Parineeti Chopra will be portraying the role of World's No. 1 badminton player Saina Nehwal in her upcoming film which is the biopic of the latter. The first look and teaser of the film 'Saina' have been released on media platforms but it received a mixed array of reactions, most of it being criticizing and negative. She was interviewed during the trailer launch event and was asked her view regarding her role's backlash.

Parineeti said, "Main actually bohot alag dimaag ki hoon. Agar mujhe lagta hai ki jo koi bol raha hai, woh sahi bol raha hai, toh main unko bolti hoon, ‘Haan, tum bilkul sahi bol rahe ho and I agree with you.’ Jab mujhe pata hai ki koi sirf bolne ke liye bol raha hai toh main unko ignore kar deti hoon (Actually, I think very differently. If I feel that the criticism is correct, I say, ‘Yes, you are right and I agree with you.’ But if I know that someone is criticizing just for the sake of it, I ignore them).” She also added by saying that she will only consider acknowledging the criticism if it is something worth acting upon.

The biopic Saina is directed by Amole Gupte and produced by a quadruple collaboration of Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Rasesh Shah, Sujay Jairaj. This film has also skipped the pandemic-cliche OTT platform release and will be hitting the theatres on 26 March 2021.
