Sujeeth’s multi-starrer with Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor in the leads, Saaho, hit screens a year prior today. The film hit screens not just in Telugu, but also Tamil and Hindi as well. Apart from the lead pair, Saaho starred Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Evelyn Sharma, Chunky Pandey, Mahesh Manjrekar, Mandira Bedi, Vennela Kishore, Murli Sharma and more in key roles. Seeing as how the film hit screens two years after Baahubali 2, desires were high and in spite of the negative reviews on the film’s opening day, it went on to do great commerce at the box office. Before the film’s release, there were numerous rumours that Prabhas had hiked up his budget for the film, due to Baahubali. However, the star clarified, “Baahubali set the bar high, but Saaho was mounted on a massive scale, so I knew I couldn’t charge my usual remuneration. I started out with a twenty percent cut. Then the film’s budget went slightly over and while the producers were ready to pay up, I couldn’t take the money because of how much they had put into the film.”

Saaho has been mounted on a humongous budget of Rs 350 Cr as nothing was compromised on for the film. The film was also shot on the most advanced cameras of recent times, one which provides high-quality output that would look good on big screens. The picture resolution of said camera is also high as compared to normal movie cameras.

An estimated number of one lakh fans turned up for the Saaho pre-release event in Hyderabad at Ramoji Film City. The evening with a gilded one, with Rs 2 Cr spent on stage design and other arrangements, state reports. The cast and crew were in attendance and some props used in the film were also on display.

Multiple action directors were roped on-board

Saaho had different activity arrangements, so multiple action directors were reserved on-board to ensure there was no repetition. Well-known international stunt man Kenny Bates was one among them, known for his work in Die Hard and Transformers. Apart from him, reports state that Peng Zhang, Dhilip Shubbarayan, Stunt Silva, Stefan Richter, Bob Brown and Ram – Lakshman were also brought on-board.

Sujeeth waited two long years after his debut for Prabhas

Sujeeth made his debut with the small budget film Run Raja Run. Prabhas had promised he would work with him, so the director waited two long years after his debut for Prabhas to wrap up Baahubali 2. Initially, Saaho was not mounted on such a large scale. But with the success of Baahubali and Prabhas gaining nation-wide fame, things changed and the budget kept increasing.
