Jimmy Sheirgil Booked For Flouting Covid-19 Protocols

Punjab Police revealed the names of noted actors like Jimmy Sheirgill, national award-winning director Eeshwar Nivas and 33 others who were booked for flouting Covid-19 lockdown rules while shooting in Ludhiana. The shooting of a web series 'Your Honour' is currently taking place in Ludhiana. Touted to be the remake of an Israeli web show, the shooting is taking place in a private school without permission and the crew is not following covid-19 protocols imposed by the government.

A crew of 150 members was there shooting at the set around 8:00 PM which is 2 hours after the curfew imposed to contain the second wave of virus that came into effect. So, a case was registered against them on Tuesday night. Nivas along with two others got arrested but later granted bail. The police have registered a case under section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of disease danger­ous to life) of the Indian Penal Code and section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act.
