Getting Candid With 'Bedurulanka 2012' Producer Benny Muppaneni

To build anticipation for the release of 'Bedurulanka 2012', Benny engaged with the media, sharing intriguing insights about the movie and its journey.
After the remarkable success of National award-winning films 'Colour Photo' and 'Tellavarithe Guruvaram,' producer Ravindra Banerjee (Benny) Muppaneni is set to unveil his latest project, 'Bedurulanka 2012,' produced under the banner of Laukya Entertainments. This eagerly anticipated film stars the talented Kartikeya Gummakonda, known for his impressive work, and Neha Shetty, who gained fame through 'DJ Tillu.'

Adding to the excitement, 'Bedurulanka 2012' marks the directorial debut of Mr. Clax, promising a fresh perspective on storytelling. The film is presented by Yuvraj and is all set to hit the screens this Friday.

To build anticipation for the release, Benny engaged with the media, sharing intriguing insights about the movie and its journey. Here are the details of the conversation:

Interviewer: Benny, could you start by telling us a bit about your background?

Benny: Of course, I was born and raised in Hyderabad. I initially worked in the software industry for six years, but my passion and love for filmmaking led me to enter the industry as a producer.

Interviewer: 'Bedurulanka 2012' is quite a unique title. What's the story behind it?

Benny: The title reflects an element of fear in the story. It's set in an imaginary village, where something significant occurs for 21 days in 2012. While the story isn't centered around '2012,' we needed that backdrop to tell the tale we wanted to convey.

Interviewer: When you listen to a story pitch, what elements do you look for?

Benny: I strongly believe a story should have that 'X' factor to stand out. The audience craves something new and unique. Once you have that core point, the rest naturally falls into place. Clax, our director, presented a story with that 'X' factor, and we believed it could be presented in an entertaining way. We locked the story two months before the release of 'Color Photo.'

Interviewer: Tell us about your experience working with Hero Kartikeya.

Benny: I'm very happy with Kartikeya; he's been a thorough professional. In fact, I'd love to work with him again on another project.

Interviewer: Can you give us a glimpse of the hero's character in the movie?

Benny: Certainly. Kartikeya's character is someone who lives life on his terms, despite society's questions and judgments. Neha Shetty plays his girlfriend, and their love story spans from childhood. The film explores how we might live our final moments if we knew our time was running out. Expect drama and comedy as the film's highlights. Every character in the movie has a well-defined character arc, and none feel forced into the story.

Interviewer: You mentioned Neha Shetty as the heroine. Can you tell us more about her role?

Benny: Neha Shetty has gained quite a following, especially after 'DJ Tillu.' While she excelled in modern urban roles, we felt she could adapt to a rural character. Clax initially had doubts, but after a screen test, we were convinced she could pull off the role effortlessly.

Interviewer: Why did you choose experienced technicians for a film directed by a newcomer?

Benny: To bring Clax's vision to the screen, we believed experienced technicians were necessary. Hence, we brought in professionals like Mani Sharma as the music director and Sai Prakash as the cinematographer. There was no compromise in any aspect, be it the crew or the cast.

Interviewer: I heard there's a song written by the legendary Sirivennela. Can you share more about it?

Benny: Unfortunately, Sirivennela Garu passed away while working on this song. Mani Sharma brought us his notes, and Chaitanya Prasad completed the song. We decided not to use Sirivennela Garu's name for publicity, respecting his legacy.

Interviewer: The trailer of 'Bedurulanka 2012' was released by Ram Charan. What were his thoughts on the film?

Benny: Before releasing the trailer, Ram Charan inquired about the story. After watching it, he praised the concept and particularly admired Ajay Ghosh's character. He also had kind words for Mani Sharma's music. Ram Charan was impressed with Karthikeya and Neha Shetty's on-screen chemistry.

Interviewer: You've been involved in several successful films like 'Color Photo' and 'Tellavarithe Guruvaram.' How has your journey as a producer been so far?

Benny: It's been a good journey because I truly enjoy it. I believe I can answer this question better after producing five films. Ultimately, I think the story is the most crucial aspect of any film.

Interviewer: What can we expect from your future projects?

Benny: We have three projects in the pipeline, and we'll announce them after 'Bedurulanka 2012' is released. Two of them are concept-driven films, while the third is a grand production.

Interviewer: Thank you for sharing your insights, Benny. We look forward to seeing 'Bedurulanka 2012' and your future projects.

Benny: Thank you, and I hope the audience enjoys our upcoming film and what's in store for the future.
