Director Siddharth Anand openly acknowledged the film's underperformance and shared his thoughts on audience reactions, which triggered a lively debate on social media. Explaining one of the reasons behind Fighter's disappointment, Siddharth mentioned, "It's a completely new territory that hasn't been explored before. The audience doesn't have any prior knowledge or reference to understand what's happening with the planes."
Expanding on this issue, he further said, "Around 90% of our population in the country hasn't experienced flying or been to an airport. So, it's difficult for them to comprehend the aerial action depicted in the movie. It seemed unfamiliar to them, resulting in a disconnection initially. But once you enter the theater, you realize what an incredible experience it is."
