    Story

Ram Pothineni plays the dual roles of Aditya and Siddharth in this action-suspense thriller Red. While Siddharth is an engineer by profession, a good guy with a good reputation, his double Aditya is a crook. A guy called Akash gets killed and Siddharth is framed for the crime. The twist in the tale occurs when Aditya also gets included in the same case. Who has killed Akash? What is the reason for the murder and facts from the past of the deceased? Forms the story.

    Review

As always, Ram does a splendid job. He very well executed the double role. As a star hero, he justified playing the distinct characters. Of the two roles, he did a decent job with the engineer look which suits him the best rather than the rough look. Malavika Sharma looks glamorous but she doesn't have a big role to play in the movie. Nivetha Pethuraj is just about okay in her role.

Coming to the character artists, Sampath continues his streak of portraying the cop's role with ease, and Vennela Kishore extracts some comedy in quite a few scenes. Comedian Satya and Posani did good roles in the movie.

The narration is the biggest flaw in the movie, a jaded screenplay that doesn't attract the audience. There are few plots in the movie which are totally out of logic and for a suspense thriller it cannot be excused.

The second half of the movie is more intriguing and entertaining than the first half.

Mani Sharma produced one of the finest background music just good for the suspense plot. The suspense is not properly cooked up to keep the audience glued to the seats. The police station set-up could have been better handled with good actors as cops.

Kishore Tirumala did a below-par job with this film. A little more effort would have made it an interesting thriller.

    Verdict

A one-time watch perfect for a weekend watch.
