Story 

Gully Rowdy revolves around carefree and brash Vasu (Sundeep Kishan) who belongs to a rowdy family, and is often forced into gang wars by his family, despite him hating his background. He is further entangled into his rowdy background as his lover (Neha Shetty) pleads him to protect her family using his gangster influence. How he manages to save his love despite his hatred towards his heritage, and earns the appreciation of her forms the crux of this story. 

Review 

Gully Rowdy seems like an average comedy drama, intermingled with a cheesy romance on the outside, and it is exactly that. . The actors in this movie standout because of the sub-standard and generic plot. Sundeep Kishan is an effortless actor, blending into the role with beautiful ease. His presence is demanding, but it puts the viewer at ease with his effortless charm. He gives the role of Vasu perfect justice, despite the character sketch being lacking in many aspects, almost feeling two-dimensional. The female lead, despite having a small role, does her job marvelously, the eye of the viewer is drawn to her charisma. Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore, Bobby Simha, and Posani Krishna Murali were delightful, as their comedic timing provided a refreshing feeling, giving the viewer respite from the suffocating blandness of the plot. The flow of the story is average, but because of the script being too dull and overused, it fails to land an impact on the viewers. 

In conclusion, the movie is a perfect reprieve for someone who's looking to while away their time without thinking much, since the plot is so overused by the industry.  

Verdict

This movie is a perfect one-time watch, but other than that it is too imbalanced in other aspects, so the movie perfectionists stand the chance to be disappointed.
