    Story

It's the year 1999 and Ravi (Jayam Ravi), an Intermediate student in his teens, has a crush on his classmate Nikita (Samyukta Hegde of 'Kirak Party' fame). The day he decides to propose to her, he meets with an accident and slips into a deep coma. He wakes up sixteen years later and finds everything around him quite confusing. His close associate Mani (Yogi Babu) is now his brother in law and is the only go-to guy. He falls into a young woman (Kajal Aggarwal) and later realizes that he has a purpose in life. The drama includes a highly desired idol that is believed to impact an MLA's rising prosperity.

    Review

Debutant director Pradeep Ranganathan’s Comali is a movie based on the concept of time travel. Here the director uses coma as a device to do time-travel to jump from one period to another. To do so, he puts the protagonist in a coma and wakes him up after 16 years. It is certainly a decent attempt for a first-timer. The nostalgia he creates for the viewers is superb, and all those from the '90s certainly would do a time travel to collect back their memories.

The chemistry between Ravi and Yogi Babu is hilarious. Yogi Babu and Sha Ra as Dr. Thyagesh tickle viewers funny bones whenever they appear on the screen. Many jokes will leave the audience in splits, while some will make them cringe.

The subplot about a rare idol, inherited by Ravi’s father, who, hails from a royal family though looks out of place but blends well with story.

Certain ascpects of the movie doesn't seem quite welcomed by the Telugu audience or else the movie is a thorough entertainer.

    Verdict

An out and out entertainer that can be enjoyed thoroughly with family.
