Sujatha (Savithri) is a rich girl and her best friend Vasantha (Krishna Kumari) is poor. Vasantha accidentally hits Shekar (Akkineni) with her car. Later, both Sujatha and Vasantha fall in love with Shekar. The movie is based on a Telugu novel named Kaalaatheetha Vyakthulu written by Dr. Sridevi.
