The film is based on the battle exploits of Kunjali Marakkar IV, the naval chieftain of the Samoothiri. Kunjali Marakkars organised the first ever naval defense off the Malabar Coast of India against the Portuguese invasion, for almost a century.

Upon the death of a leader from a ruling party, there is a battle of power among people to take up his place. His foster son, the ambiguous Stephen, steps in and confronts hurdles in all fields of life.

Three men are murdered by a killer who teases the police department with his flawless crimes. ADGP Mathew Manjooran is called in on his last day to investigate the case. When three more men are killed in the same way, Manjooran is pulled into a deadly game of cat-and-mouse.
