# Vivek Oberoi backs Salman Khan's stand against trolls after Bigg Boss 20 rant

> Vivek Oberoi has backed Salman Khan's attack on social media trolls, saying there is too much positive work in life to spend time on negativity, days after Salman took off his shirt on Bigg Boss 20 to answer body shaming.

Vivek Oberoi has come out in support of Salman Khan's strong words against social media trolls. The actor was speaking on Tuesday at a charity event organised by the Cancer Patients Aid Association, where he spent time with children battling cancer.

Asked about Salman calling out trolls on Bigg Boss 20, Vivek said people should not be trolling anyone in the first place. He called trolling a very negative thing and said there are so many positive things to do in life, so there is no reason to stay stuck in negativity.

Salman had used the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode to hit back at the abuse aimed at actors over their looks and their age. He said he had been called "budha" online and mocked for his new bald look, which he has taken on for a film and also linked to the recent death of a close friend. He then removed his hat, jacket and shirt, showed off his physique and dared the trolls to carry on, and the contestants rose to give him a standing ovation.

He also defended Katrina Kaif, who he did not name on the show, from people mocking her weight after pregnancy. Salman said every woman puts on weight after having a baby, that she will get back in shape when she returns to films, and that she wants to spend time with her family for now. He called the culture of body shaming and age shaming dirty, and described trolls as parasites who make money by pulling others down.

The moment has travelled well beyond the house. Reports say the episode with the shirtless act drew around 21 million views and pushed the show past viewing benchmarks associated with major cricket broadcasts. Bigg Boss 20 had reportedly already opened with a record launch for the Hindi edition on JioHotstar.

The history between the two men makes the support worth noting. They fell out in 2003, when Vivek held a press conference on April 1 and alleged that Salman had repeatedly called and threatened him over his closeness to Aishwarya Rai, allegations Salman denied. Vivek has since said that reaction was immature and that he has moved past the bitterness. He will next be seen in Nitesh Tiwari's two part Ramayana, with the first part set for Diwali 2026.
