# Vijay's son Jason Sanjay opens up about his college romance and mutual breakup

Jason Sanjay, son of actor Vijay, has spoken about his love life for the first time. He said he fell in love only once, in college, and that the relationship ended after about a year and a half.

The 26-year-old debut director made the remarks during a rooftop party on VJ Siddhu's vlog, where he appeared with Sundeep Kishan, the lead of his film Sigma. "There was only one love," Jason said, calling the split "a mutual breakup" that the two of them decided on together.

The couple parted while Jason was abroad studying filmmaking, and the distance between them took its toll. To get through the heartbreak, he said, he listened to Yuvan Shankar Raja's love songs.

He also kept his feelings off social media. Jason explained that he chose not to post Instagram stories because, if the two had reconnected, they would not have been able to break free of it. Instead, they kept their distance.

Several years on, he says he is fine. "We've moved on with our lives. After that, I got down to making Sigma," he said.

Sigma, produced by Lyca Productions, marks Jason's debut as a director. Sundeep Kishan leads a cast that includes Faria Abdullah, Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj, Shiv Panditt, Anbu Thasan and Yog Japee. The film reached theatres on October 2 after its original release date was pushed back.
