Vijay Sethupathi's milestone 50th film, Maharaja, hit screens last Friday in Tamil and Telugu to rave reviews from both critics and audiences alike. The film had a stellar opening weekend at the box office, surpassing expectations with fantastic collections.

Just a short while ago, the creators unveiled the first weekend earnings, revealing that Maharaja grossed over Rs. 32.6 crores worldwide, setting a new record for the highest opening weekend collection for a Tamil film in 2024. The Telugu version also saw remarkable success, raking in nearly Rs. 6 crores in the Telugu states. The film is on track to break even in the Telugu market by the end of the day.
