> At the Ranabaali trailer launch, Vijay Deverakonda suggested that reels favouring Jailer 2 could be paid promotion, and said Rashmika Mandanna missed the event because of her other film commitments.

Vijay Deverakonda used the Ranabaali trailer launch to hit back at online negativity around the film. He said some of it looked manufactured.

He went after social media reels claiming audiences would choose Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 over Ranabaali. The steady stream of such clips looked suspicious to him, he said, and he suggested they could be paid promotion. Reports say Jailer 2 opens on October 15, with Ranabaali reaching theatres worldwide a day later.

Rashmika Mandanna, who plays the female lead, was missing from the event. Vijay blamed a packed calendar. He explained that the trailer launch was fixed at short notice, and by then her other film commitments left her little room to change her schedule.

On screen, the trailer shows Vijay as a rugged rebel taking on British oppression in 19th-century South India.
