> Vijay Deverakonda and Jr NTR have condemned an AI-generated deepfake of the Devara song Chuttamalle that showed Janhvi Kapoor in a sexually explicit way, and both want strict legal action against the people who made and shared it.

Vijay Deverakonda has joined the growing anger over an AI-generated video that morphs the "Chuttamalle" song from Devara: Part 1. The fake clip digitally changed Janhvi Kapoor's look from the original song to show her in a sexually explicit way. According to reports, the video has since been taken down from the platforms where it was spreading.

The actor posted a note on X on Saturday, saying the people behind it must face the toughest legal consequences and be made an example of. He asked when people had become so insensitive to one another, and what kind of parenting and society lets people enjoy degrading others. Calling the clip "the digital equivalent of sexual assault", he said the law must treat such acts with the utmost seriousness.

Jr NTR, who stars with Kapoor in the film, spoke out before him and called the video "vile" and "shameful beyond words". He said that in a culture which honours women as mothers and goddesses, using AI to disrespect a woman like this was a new low. He asked people not to engage with the clip and promised legal action against both the people who made it and those sharing it. He also urged the state governments and the Centre to bring in strict rules against the misuse of AI.

Reports say Chiranjeevi is among the other Telugu stars who have condemned the morph. Kapoor has not commented so far. The creator of the video is reportedly expected to be traced and arrested soon.

The episode has also started a debate online. Some social media users reportedly argue that one report has long glorified stalking and objectification in its songs and stories, and that the industry should look hard at its own work too.

Celebrity deepfakes have become a serious and growing concern. Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are among the stars who have been targeted. Mandanna was one of the first to speak up, in 2023, after a deepfake video using her face surfaced online, and she called such content "extremely scary".
