> Sandeep Reddy Vanga praised Vijay Deverakonda's fierce action in Ranabaali, and the actor replied that the praise brought back memories of the Arjun Reddy premieres.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga has called Vijay Deverakonda the next defining action hero of Indian cinema after watching Ranabaali, the period action film directed by Rahul Sankrityan.

In a post on X, the Animal director wrote that Vijay's action has "a raw, untamed ferocity that can't be manufactured" and that there is "a terrifying intensity in the way you fight." He congratulated the actor and signed off with "SINGANAMALA BOBBILI RANABAALI RA NEE AKKA."

Vanga had praise for more than the hero. He wrote that Rashmika Mandanna's Jayamma felt "so achingly real" and thanked Rahul for the care he brought to the history in the film. He said it shows a part of the past that school textbooks were reluctant to show.

Vijay replied the next morning. "Waking up to Happy excited messages by @imvangasandeep It's beautiful," he wrote. In a second post he went back to the Arjun Reddy premieres. He remembered Vanga's big hug and his voice back then, and said this praise felt the same. "After 10 years, I knew you would love it. But actually seeing this gives me a kick," he added.

Rashmika joined in too, writing, "Vanga sirrrr!! Thankyou so so much for your review!!"

Ranabaali is set in the 1800s under British colonial rule and is built around a famine that left people starving. Arnold Vosloo also has a role in the film.
