# Vadivelu blames a misunderstanding for long gap as he joins Dhanush in D56

Dhanush and Vadivelu are finally sharing the screen in D56, the tentatively titled film directed by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, known for Lubber Pandhu. The project was launched with a pooja ceremony on Friday. The comedian used the occasion to explain why the two actors had never worked together.

Vadivelu said he had waited a long time for the chance to act with Dhanush. He said the gap came from a misunderstanding that others created between them. In his telling, the problem was never between the two actors themselves.

His comments take fans back to Padikkadhavan, the Dhanush film Vadivelu was first attached to. He left that project, and Vivek took over the comedy role. Reports say Vadivelu shot for only two days in 2008 before walking away, and the film released in 2009. The team never explained what went wrong, so rumours ran for years.

Vadivelu also made it clear that D56 is not a political film. He reportedly called it a very different story, said he felt proud after hearing the narration and predicted a big hit. He also reportedly joked that the crowd at the pooja was so large it looked like a public rally. Dhanush kept his own remarks short, reportedly saying he did not want to speak much and would see everyone again at the audio launch of his film Om.

Besides Dhanush and Vadivelu, the film stars SJ Suryah, Preity Mukundhan and Vijay Kumar, and Sai Abhyankkar is composing the music. Reports say Sithara Entertainments and Primark Productions are producing it. The makers have not revealed the story, but earlier updates reportedly pointed to a mass commercial entertainer with a rural backdrop. The title Padaiyal has been going around, but the makers have not confirmed it.
